Homeward Bound makes way for a new President!
Congratulations to Homeward Bound Trustee, Monica Bell, on her recent acceptance to the University of Washington graduate program! Her dedication and hard work have provided an opportunity for her to pursue her passion for community-based, preventive mental health.
Monica’s commitment to permanently affordable housing is deeply connected to her passion for child well-being and mental health. She chose UW’s Extended Degree Program so that she could continue to live, work and remain engaged in Jefferson County while she’s studying.
Monica notified the Executive Committee in early May 2018 that she would be removing herself as Board President to prepare for school and support a smooth transition of leadership. Monica will remain on the Board as a Trustee for the remainder of her two-year term.
Homeward Bound’s Vice President Vanessa Indelicato stepped up to serve as Interim President, until June 9, 2018 when the board unanimously elected Matthew Woodward, of Port Townsend. Matt’s election left the Secretary position open, which was filled by Trustee Regan Harrison of Port Angeles.
“We are very excited about this new phase. Matt is a dedicated housing advocate and a strong leader.” – Vanessa Indelicato
